Background Info:
S.H.I.N.E. = Summer Health Initiative in Nutrition and Engagement
- This program is brought to you by the School District of New Richmond, and is currently funded by the Doar Foundation and federal nutrition program funds.
- Our program goal is to help fill the gap of hunger and education during the summer months for the kids of families experiencing financial hardship.
- ***We emphasize service to students eligible for free and reduced priced meals.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Child age 18 years or younger
- Must not be eating meals provided by a school site if attending summer school
- Must not be utilizing another free summer meal service through another school district
Additional Notes for June:
*Note: some of these details will change in July/August
- Meal service times are 12:15-1:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday
- Meals are FREE for all children and offer a lunch and breakfast meal (intended to be consumed the next day)
- No call, no shows will be removed from future sign ups (beginning the next day)
- Friends and other relatives are allowed to pick up meals for children. The child does not need to be present.
- We encourage kids to eat lunch on site, but it is not required for June.
